The CKA Marine system, based on UV-C ozone, was developed to fulfill the requirements of shipyards and shipping companies to maintain ventilation hoods and exhaust ducts as grease-free as possible.
Because of the use of large quantities of grease and oil, there are very few subjects on boats that are considered to be more critical than galleys where safety and hygiene are concerned. On one hand, exhaust from kitchen processes contaminate interior air, and on the other, grease deposits contribute to the risk of fire as well as to a decrease in the exhaust system’s effectiveness. Regularly cleaning the ducts is a critical task for ship operators and essential for ship security.
Building CKA Marine systems into ventilation hoods makes it possible to effectively lower grease deposits in ventilation hoods, ducts, and fans. Therefore, the costs necessary to regularly clean exhaust ducts in galleys are significantly less. At the same time, the risk of fire is distinctly lowered, and the exhaust system remains efficient.
The CKA Marine system is equipped with a washing system so that lamps are cleaned regularly – automatically via the ship’s automated control system.
The Demand Galley Ventilation System was developed in order to meet shipping companies’ requirements for energy efficiency, savings on fan and duct space, and increasingly efficient kitchen appliances. This system makes it possible to lower the volume of exhaust in comparison to conventional ventilation hoods by 65% by using Injection Return Hoods. Due to the same volume of supply air being saved, significant energy and CO2 savings can be obtained. All ventilation hoods can be optionally equipped with heating and insulation depending on the requirements.
Depending on needs and requirements, grease channels can be equipped as necessary with grease collectors or outlet drains, as depicted several ways in the sample illustrations.
The lamp frames can be designed according to requirements for use as inspection lamps with the option of being opened for maintenance work (see the drawing for the UV Wash Grease Filter Hood Front and Backside Suction as an example).
